We seek applicants for part-time instructors to teach evening cannabis courses during future semesters through HCC's Career and Technical Education division. Courses offered in this area include Introduction to Cannabis, Cannabis Regulatory Compliance, Cannabis Cultivation, and Cannabis Dispensary Operations.
General responsibilities include, but are not limited to:- Prepare appropriate syllabi for courses
- Develop lectures, discussions, and presentations
- Evaluate students’ performance using appropriate methods
- Maintain instructional materials and equipment

EMPLOYEE LEAVE
Paid Leave: Adjunct Faculty shall be eligible for one hour per term of paid leave for each contact hour of load in a given term, which leave shall be noncumulative from academic term to academic term and maybe used without stating the reason for the leave. Whenever possible, the Faculty Member shall give prior notice to the Supervising Administrator of his or her intention to use said leave.
Bereavement and Legal Leave: Refer to the Collective Bargaining Agreement for Adjunct Faculty.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
With prior approval of the appropriate Supervising Administrator, Adjunct Faculty may be absent from class with pay to attend workshops, conferences, or seminars directly related to their work at the College. Unless a greater amount is approved by the Provost and Vice President, Academic Affairs, the College shall pay up to $400 per fiscal year for workshop, conference, or seminar for fees and expenses incurred by the Faculty Member, which may be requested from a pool not to exceed $12,000 per fiscal year. For Adjunct Faculty in Tiers 2 and above, the professional development allowance may also include memberships in professional organizations, books, subscriptions, publications related to the Faculty Member’s academic discipline, documentation of successful completion of a college-level course that advances the Adjunct Faculty Member's professional development, or other professional development as approved by the Provost and Vice President, Academic Affairs or designee.

Tuition Waiver: Providing a tuition waiver for HCC courses allows employees to avail themselves of educational opportunities that the College offers. Such a benefit encourages personal and professional growth that can aid employees in performing their role at the College.
Adjunct Faculty are eligible for 100% tuition waivers. Spouse or civil union partner and dependent(s) of Adjunct Faculty in Tiers 1, 2, and 3 are eligible for 50% tuition waivers. Spouse or civil union partner and dependent(s) of Adjunct Faculty in Tiers 4 and 5 are eligible for 100% tuition waivers.
Licensure Expenses: Upon request of the Faculty Member, the Supervising Administrator may authorize payment of up to $50 per license or license renewal fee in circumstances where the Supervising Administrator determines that licensure is required to teach an assigned class or would be beneficial to the instruction of such class.
Vision Discount Programs: McLean County Eye Center and Bard Optical. Provide Name and/or Heartland ID card.
Employee Identification Card: Access to HCC Fitness and Recreation Center, HCC Library, and Bloomington-Normal Public Transit System (Connect Transit)
