Heartland Community College (HCC) in Normal, Illinois provides many career training and transfer opportunities, which include several highly innovative subject offerings. More than 40 professional and academic degrees may be found at HCC, which include such valuable areas of study as Computer Maintenance, Medical Transcription, Practical Nursing and Radiography. However, HCC is also a leader in innovation, offering progressive early childhood education training and a space exploration major as well. HCC is also a leader in environmental design and sustainability, being the first campus to construct a building from Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design funds. They are also one of the founders of the Illinois Green Economy Network. HCC’s campus services consist of childcare, support for disabled students, Spanish student services and tutoring. For admission to an HCC degree program, students will need a high school diploma or GED. However, there are also GED-prep and ESL courses for students needing to attain those basic skills. Financial aid from various sources is available to qualifying students.
