Description

We seek applicants for a full-time position within our Information Technology department to install, maintain, and repair microcomputers, audio/visual equipment, and video conferencing systems. The Client Services Technician will actively participate as a project team member for roll-outs of new technology as well as work at the Helpdesk providing excellent customer service.

General responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain and repair technology resources, including computers, peripherals, audio/visual equipment, and telephones
  • Perform common Helpdesk duties, including but not limited to assisting end users with password resets, completing routine department checklist tasks, checking out assets to clients, troubleshooting application software problems and providing how-to consultations for various requests
  • Deploy software assets to end users using application packaging tools
  • Assist in the maintenance of data, voice, and video conferencing networks
  • Maintain high degree of client satisfaction through responsiveness to needs, effective communication, follow-through, and excellent customer service skills
  • Assist in preparing technical documentation for cabling, hardware, and software configurations, training requirements, and other IT supported projects
  • Respond to periodic workload demand fluctuations and emergencies requiring weekend and evening work

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Computer Science, Electronics Technology, or related field; or minimum of two years technical experience in a related field
  • Knowledge and experience with one or more of the following electronic components: computers, peripherals, projectors, and telephones
  • Troubleshooting skills for a wide range of end-user hardware and software systems
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds (as necessary to perform functions of the position)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member
  • Commitment to quality customer service

Desired Qualifications

  • Troubleshooting skills for video and audio conferencing systems
  • Thorough understanding of PC networking
  • Advanced knowledge of microcomputer operating systems (including Macintosh)
  • Self-motivated, mechanically inclined
  • Good organizational skills and excellent attention to detail

EMPLOYEE LEAVE
Vacation: 20 days (160 hours) per year with a maximum annual carry-over of 40 days (320 hours); Accrual of 6.16 hours will be granted on the last day of each pay period

Sick Leave: 12 days (96 hours) per year with unlimited annual carry-over; 12 days (96 hours) granted on start date; Beginning on the first anniversary, accrual of 3.70 hours will be granted on the last day of each pay period.

Volunteer Leave: 1 day (8 hours) per year with no annual carry-over;
8 hours granted on start date, then annually granted on January 1

Special Leave: Available by approval for bereavement, emergencies, and legal requirements

Parental Leave: 4 weeks for qualifying events, once per 12-month rolling period

Holidays: 12 designated paid holidays, plus 3 paid Floating Holidays (24 hours); Floating Holidays granted on start date, then annually granted on the anniversary date. HCC is closed from Christmas Eve Day through New Year’s Day generally resulting in additional paid days
