We seek applicants for a temporary, part-time substitute in the College's Child Development Lab (CDL). The CDL is a nationally accredited laboratory school providing care and education to young children as well as field experience for college students pursuing the early childhood field.
This position will work collaboratively with the Child Development Specialist(s) in a mixed infant/toddler or preschool classrooms to implement planned age-appropriate activities, maintain safety, and support learning goals.
The schedule is anticipated to include up to 28 hours per week.
General responsibilities include, but are not limited to- Ensure a safe, nurturing learning environment for all children in both indoor and outdoor spaces
- Plan and implement curriculum and activities
- Assess and support the needs of individual children
- Communicate with family members
- Document daily activities
Requirements

- Completion of 60+ credit hours at an accredited institution with a minimum of 6 credit hours directly related to early childhood education
- Previous successful experience working in a childcare setting
- Ability to pass DCFS criminal background check
Desired Qualifications

- Associate degree in early childhood education, child development, or related field
- Gateways Level 4 Infant Toddler or Early Childhood credential

Anticipated pay range is $18.50 - $24.00/hr, depending upon qualifications
