We seek applicants for a full-time Associate Director position to maintain and support all aspects of the Flexible Learning in Technical Education (FLITE) lab and future off-campus flex labs located at partner employer sites. This role will coordinate budgeting, purchasing, and maintenance for FLITE and flex lab supplies, as well as technical equipment. The Associate Director will hire, train, schedule, and supervise laboratory assistants and student employees, and provide maintenance and support services for FLITE and flex labs and programs, including safety and inventory management. This role is responsible for a variety of support activities, including research, analysis, and recommendations concerning industrial equipment, tools, software, and hardware. This position will also assist in the development and establishment of external flex labs and work with external stakeholders.
General responsibilities include, but are not Iimited to:- Working closely with external stakeholders and College staff to determine need, design, procure equipment, and maintain off-campus flex labs located at partner employer sites.
- Maintain and coordinate supplies, services, support, and safety to facilitate instruction in the FLITE and flex labs.
- Ensure the safety and cleanliness of FLITE and flex labs, including maintaining documentation and providing training.
- Develop instructional lab supply and equipment budget in collaboration with other division administrators and faculty members.
- Coordinate with the Associate Director, Industrial Labs, for purchasing and ordering of industrial supplies and equipment, including coordination with vendors and suppliers for orders, delivery, and installations.
- Perform maintenance on industrial equipment such as machine tools, CNC machines, CAD workstations, PLCs, oscilloscopes, electronic instruments, various electrical trainers, and simulation equipment.
- Maintain OSHA laboratory safety standards, an incident report log, and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). Work with Risk Management as appropriate on related safety protocols, training, reporting, etc
- Work with Industrial Technology faculty to facilitate student lab activities, implement instructors’ classroom expectations, assist students in meeting course outcomes and objectives of designated learning activities.
- Research, analyze, and develop recommendations concerning equipment, software, and tools used throughout the FLITE and flex labs.
- Assist with the maintenance of computer workstations, including hardware and software.
- Pursue continuing education and training on relevant systems and technologies where appropriate.
- Lift, move, and install technology resources such as machines, equipment, computers, and peripherals, as necessary to perform duties of this position.
Requirements

Associate degree or equivalent combination of education, certification, and/or work experience.
Experience with industrial equipment maintenance and safety.
High degree of safety consciousness and responsibility.
Ability to research, evaluate, recommend, and support various tools, equipment, and instruments for the department, such as CNC machines, CAD workstations, machining equipment, and electronic instruments.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Proven ability to collaborate successfully in a team setting and work inclusively within a diverse campus community.
Desired Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in technology or related area.
Knowledge of industrial safety standards such as OSHA, ANSI, etc.
Supervisory experience.
Experience teaching or training in an industrial setting.

EMPLOYEE LEAVE
Vacation: 20 days (160 hours) per year with a maximum annual carry-over of 40 days (320 hours); Accrual of 6.16 hours will be granted on the last day of each pay period
Sick Leave: 12 days (96 hours) per year with unlimited annual carry-over; 12 days (96 hours) granted on start date; Beginning on the first anniversary, accrual of 3.70 hours will be granted on the last day of each pay period.Volunteer Leave: 1 day (8 hours) per year with no annual carry-over;
