Description

We seek applicants for a full-time position on our Human Resources (HR) team to coordinate and perform HR processes throughout the employment lifecycle and support a workforce dedicated to the College vision, mission, and values. Functions are shared across team members and relate to various aspects of employment, benefits, HR information systems, and other facets of HR. Analyst contribute to efficient daily operations of the Human Resources Office and maintain an emphasis on providing excellent employee service.

General responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Collaborate with colleagues to perform interdependent tasks and processes supporting the employee lifecycle.
  • Guide and educate supervisors and employees on College policies and HR procedures.
  • Use HR systems information to perform daily functions, analyze data, and fulfill mandated and other reporting requirements.
    • Prepare and submit data for state and federal reporting requirements and other reporting needs.
    • Participate in HR systems set-up and testing of system updates.
    • Track and analyze designated HR metrics.
    • Respond to internal and external HR information requests.
  • Coordinate employee benefits and maintain the benefits administration system. Facilitate and perform processes for employee insurance, the Flexible Spending Plan, the 403(b) Plan, the State Universities Retirement System (SURS), educational benefits, and others as assigned. Manage enrollment and termination of employees and dependents in appropriate benefit plans and complete SURS web events.
  • Serve as liaison for daily processing and inquiries between the HR Office and external providers of College benefit plans. Reconcile bills, resolve billing issues, and submit for payment using College systems. Assist in resolving employee insurance problems when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with the Payroll Office to ensure accurate employee leave recordkeeping.
  • Provide guidance to employees and supervisors regarding extended leave requests (FMLA, parental leave, disability, sick leave bank, etc.), in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Facilitate administration of employee sick leave banks, alternate work schedules, remote work, and perform related processes.
  • Facilitate employee separation and offboarding processes.
    • Enter separations in HR systems
    • Facilitate exit surveys and meetings with outgoing employees
    • Manage COBRA insurance administration, including eligibility notification, enrollment, and termination
    • Work with Information Technology (IT) staff to facilitate the de-provision of computer access
    • Decommission personnel files and related records
  • Respond to employee inquiries and maintain emphasis on providing excellent employee service as duties and responsibilities are fulfilled.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or appropriate education/experience.
  • Work experience and/or education in HR or directly related field.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and ability to problem-solve, and to work both independently and as a collaborative team member.
  • Ability to interact effectively and inclusively with diverse populations of prospective and current employees, other members of the campus community, and external organizations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, handle sensitive information professionally, and function professionally under pressure.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.

Desired Qualifications

  • Professional HR certification (such as PHR or SHRM-CP).
  • Familiarity with HR information systems and data reporting.
  • Knowledge of business process mapping and workflow analysis.

EMPLOYEE LEAVE
Vacation: 20 days per year with a maximum annual carry-over of 40 days
Sick Leave: 12 days per year with unlimited annual carry-over
Holidays: 12 designated paid holidays plus 3 paid floating days
HCC is closed from Christmas Eve Day through New Year's Day generally resulting in 2-3 additional paid days
