We seek applicants for a full-time position in Enrollment Services to assist the Associate Director with planning, promotion, delivery, and evaluation of student recruitment, outreach, and admissions efforts with a specific emphasis on high school student recruitment. Primary responsibilities of this role are building relationships with high school students, families, and school counselors, attending fairs and events, and supervising the student ambassador program.
General responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide oversight for all high school outreach, including ongoing communication with school counselors, coordination of high school visits, and the implementation of mobilized enrollment services to assist high school students with the enrollment process.
- Coordinate recruitment and outreach activities and events to promote Heartland Community College on and off campus.
- Monitor and track high school prospective student applications, inquiries, and student enrollment progress /yield.
- Serve as the main point of contact to communicate, organize, and execute on-campus high school group visits.
- Assist with communications, marketing, and other operations of the Admissions team.
- Meet with scheduled and drop-in campus visitors and students.
Requirements

- Associate degree.
- Excellent presentation, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and inclusively with prospective students, school counselors, parents, and community members.
- Experience in admissions, student recruitment, marketing, or a related field.
- Organizational and planning skills, attention to detail, ability to work independently and function professionally under pressure.
- Ability to take initiative and be a self-starter.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Desired Qualifications

- Experience working with students at the community college level.
- Knowledge of student development and familiarity with other student personnel areas.
- Familiarity with student information software, preferably PeopleSoft.
- Acquaintance with and demonstrated ease in promoting Programs of Study.

EMPLOYEE LEAVE
Vacation: 20 days (160 hours) per year with a maximum annual carry-over of 40 days (320 hours); Accrual of 6.16 hours will be granted on the last day of each pay period
Sick Leave: 12 days (96 hours) per year with unlimited annual carry-over;
12 days (96 hours) granted on start date; Beginning on the first anniversary, accrual of 3.70 hours will be granted on the last day of each pay period
Volunteer Leave: 1 day (8 hours) per year with no annual carry-over;
8 hours granted on start date, then annually granted at the start of the calendar year on January 1
Special Leave: Available by approval for bereavement, emergencies, and legal requirements
Parental Leave: 4 weeks for qualifying events, once per 12-month rolling period
Holidays: 12 designated paid holidays plus 3 paid floating days (24 hours);
Floating holidays granted on start date, then annually granted on the anniversary date. HCC is closed from Christmas Eve Day through New Year’s Day generally resulting in additional paid days.
