Description

We seek applicants for a full-time position to create training programs, professional development (PD) curricula, and related materials for Continuing Education (CE). Will ensure compliance with industry standards, as well as best practices in adult learning and development.


General responsibilities include but are not limited to
  • Plan, build, deliver, and revise professional development programs, curricula, materials, and services to meet the needs of area organizations in collaboration with subject matter experts (SMEs) and other stakeholders. This includes, but is not limited to, skill-building workshops and webinars, conference sessions, and facilitations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to advance PD programs that offer appropriate CEUs, badges, or other professional credentials.
  • Vet and oversee SMEs engaged in program development, instruction, or facilitation in collaboration with other staff as appropriate.
  • Review offerings for opportunities to include culturally relevant content and promote inclusive practices.
  • Support and advance new initiatives as guided by the Director of Business and Industry Solutions.
  • Provide internal CE staff development offerings as directed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience creating, delivering, and evaluating professional development or training programs
  • Ability to prioritize, manage, and advance multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • Experience facilitating productive group discussions and collaborative problem-solving
  • Demonstrated expertise in technical writing, editing, and proofreading
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to foster professional relationships with diverse community members and groups
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work well both independently and in a fast-paced collaborative environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications

Desired Qualifications

  • Professional coaching or consulting experience
  • Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat DC
  • Experience developing culturally relevant materials and services

EMPLOYEE LEAVE
Vacation: 20 days (160 hours) per year with a maximum annual carry-over of 40 days (320 hours); Accrual of 6.16 hours will be granted on the last day of each pay period

Sick Leave: 12 days (96 hours) per year with unlimited annual carry-over;
12 days (96 hours) granted on start date; Beginning on the first anniversary, accrual of 3.70 hours will be granted on the last day of each pay period

Volunteer Leave: 1 day (8 hours) per year with no annual carry-over;
8 hours granted on start date, then annually granted at the start of the calendar year on January 1

Special Leave: Available by approval for bereavement, emergencies, and legal requirements

Parental Leave: 4 weeks for qualifying events, once per 12-month rolling period

Holidays: 12 designated paid holidays plus 3 paid floating days (24 hours);
Floating holidays granted on start date, then annually granted on the anniversary date. HCC is closed from Christmas Eve Day through New Year’s Day generally resulting in additional paid days.

Retirement System: State Universities Retirement System (SURS) - choice of Traditional, Portable, or Retirement Savings Plan with 8% pre-tax payroll deduction

Savings Plan: SURS Deferred Compensation Plan (DCP) 457(b) – automatic enrollment with 3% pre-tax payroll deduction. Ability to opt out within 30 days of hire
