We invite applicants for a tenure-track faculty position in the College's associate degree nursing program. This is a full-time, 9-month appointment within the Health Sciences division that includes teaching in the classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings. Anticipated start date is August 2025 for the fall semester.
Opportunities and responsibilities of this position include:
- Availability to teach in-person, lab, and clinical sections of various nursing courses
- Participation in curriculum improvements to maintain currency of content and nursing best practices
- Engagement in department-level projects and teams related to program review and strategic planning
- Involvement in department and College-wide committees and initiatives
The hired individual may be expected to teach a variety of courses in the discipline as assigned, including teaching evening and/or weekend classes, at off-campus locations, and in alternative delivery formats.
Requirements

- Master's degree with a major in nursing (MSN)
- 2 years of successful experience in clinical nursing practice
- Current license to practice nursing in Illinois
- Ability to meet clinical health requirements
- Ability to work inclusively with diverse populations of students, employees, and community members
Desired Qualifications

- Experience teaching in multiple content areas which may include mental health, critical care, medical surgical, and maternal child health/pediatrics nursing
- Anticipated starting salary range for this 9-month position is at or above $47,286 - $63,594 not inclusive of any applicable overload pay or summer session assignments.

EMPLOYEE LEAVE
Sick Leave: 10 days per year, pro-rated from employment date
If hired in August, 10 days (80 hours) of sick leave awarded on start date; If hired in January, 5 days (40 hours) of sick leave awarded on start date;
Monthly accrual in subsequent years starting every August 15th
Awarded 16 hours of sick leave for teaching 6 or more ECH in Summer term; Awarded 8 hours of sick leave for teaching 3-5 ECH in Summer term.
Personal Leave: 4 days (32 hours) per year, pro-rated from employment Anniversary date
Unused personal leave converts to sick leave days at the end of employment year
Volunteer Leave: 1 day (8 hours) per year with no annual carry-over
8 hours awarded on start date, then annually awarded at the start of the calendar year on January 1
Bereavement Leave: Up to 5 days (40 hours) depending on relationship to deceased
Holidays: The College is closed on the following holidays:
Labor Day, Wednesday through Friday of Thanksgiving week, Christmas Eve Day through New Year’s Day inclusively, Dr. Martin Luther King’s Birthday, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, and Independence Day
