Water Distribution

Seasonal Utility Worker positions provide labor and assistance to the Water Distribution Division, including servicing meters, hydrants, and performing general maintenance duties.

• Replacing water meters and meter reading devices.
• Perform landscaping and maintenance duties.
• Cleaning and painting fire hydrants.
• May be responsible for any utility worker duties.
  

• Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a valid Illinois driver's license.
• Ability to learn the operation and maintenance of all equipment and procedures within the division.
• Some knowledge of heavy duty trucks, tractors and maintenance equipment.
• Some knowledge of general construction.
• Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with co-workers and other Town employees.
• Physical ability to perform a wide variety of manual labor in a wide variety of inclement weather, especially as it relates to the back, legs and arms.
• Ability to maintain various records of the division.
