Role Summary
Internship Term:
Rivian internships are experiences optimized for student candidates. To be eligible, you must be an undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited program during the internship term with an expected graduation date between 2026 and 2028. Note that if your university has specific requirements for internship programs, it is your responsibility to fulfill those requirements.
This co-op will help develop Rivian’s testing processes, support launch and commissioning of test equipment for production lines and help support Rivian’s mission to keep the world adventurous forever. The primary focus of this role will be on Drive unit & EMM (Energy Management Module) line.
Responsibilities
1. Support the commissioning of Leak test, Oil Fill, Manual station, Drive unit Testers toward successfully launching them and getting them ready to start production.
2. Develop Noise and Vibration metrics and limits using in vehicle correlation data and collaborating with our NVH team.
3. Identify and help fix downtime issues during ramp, help with ideas that can support reducing cycle time (Time taken to run a process)
4. Support /maintain standard manufacturing / quality documentation (PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA Plan, Functional Safety, etc.) for core processes.
5. Identify tooling and hardware requirements, design and implement them into production processes.
6. Identify automation opportunities and establish requirements as well as evaluate return on investment for each. Work with in-house resources or external vendors as necessary to develop these solutions and implement on the production line.
7. Help gather resources and close out open points in Rivian safe tag process.
Qualifications
1. Pursuing Bachelor's degree in an Electro-Mechanical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering discipline.
2. Cross discipline interest and experience in Mechanical, Electrical and Programming.
3. Should have basic understanding of manufacturing and process development.
4. Programming understanding - Script and block based is good to have.
5. Team work experience - Cross functional engagement and collaboration experience with team projects.
Pay Disclosure
Salary Range/Hourly Rate for Internships: The range of pay for internships is 25.00-51.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on location, and other factors permitted by law.
Rivian provides robust wellness benefits, and a medical insurance package for interns, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
