Surgical Technologist I: $27.26-38.48/hour

Surgical Technologist II: $27.26-38.48/hour (with a 3% range adjustment)

Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills, and internal equity. This is an hourly position.

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: The Surgical Tech II provides advanced care for patients across the life span. Serves as the first scrub person in the majority of surgical cases. Utilizes advanced surgical skill set to collaborate with the clinical care team in caring for the patient. Adheres to a high standard of patient safety principles and aseptic and sterile techniques. Follows and understands the standards and recommended practices according to the Association of Operating Room Nurses (AORN) and Association of Surgical Technologist (AST).


Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Surgical Technologist I:

Education: High School Diploma or GED; requires completion of a Surgical Tech program with the ability to sit for certification OR 2 years minimum working in a Surgical Tech role.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a Surgical Technologist/Technician role if completion of a Surgical tech program has not been completed.

Licensure/Certification: American Heart Association CPR (BLS)

Other Skills/Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented. Requires intra-operative orientation to learn department/unit policies, procedures and work routines; to develop competency in the use of medical equipment and instruments used in the procedure/operating room; to learn quality/safety standards; and to gain an understanding of the various types of surgical procedures within their service line.

Surgical Technologist II:

Education: High School Diploma or GED; requires completion of a Surgical Tech program and Surgical Technologist Certification with a minimum of 3 years working in a Surgical Tech role OR minimum 5 years working in a Surgical Tech role.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years in Surgical Technologist role if certified. Minimum of 5 years in Surgical Technologist role if not certified.

Licensure/Certification: American Heart Association CPR (BLS), Surgical Technologist Certification or 5 years or more in a Surgical Technologist role.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Surgical Technologist I & II:

Licensure/Certification: Certification in Surgical Technology
