Expected pay for this position is $29.30 - $34.47/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.
Overview
POSITION SUMMARY: The Athletic Trainer Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating the Athletic Training team of Mission Partners to cover comprehensive sports medicine services, as well as provide clinical practice coverage to OSF Stakeholders and area schools. The Athletic Trainer Supervisor oversees athletic injury prevention/recognition /treatment programming in area schools. In conjunction with the Orthopedic Provider and Care Team, collaborates with Clinical Supervisor to provide support for clinic operational functions and patient care. Assists with outreach programs, such as concussion baseline testing and management, return to learn/play protocols, injury prevention, event medical coverage, school / organization athletic training visitation, health promotion, with consultation and educational initiative focus. The Supervisor may also organize community programs and establish policies, procedures, standards and objectives for the health promotion, wellbeing, treatment, and education of athletes, patients, and their support systems.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of an accredited program in athletic training with Bachelor’s degree
- National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification (NATA BOC)
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Illinois
- Clinical skills necessary to perform injury evaluations and provide appropriate treatment and management
- Analytical skills necessary to formulate appropriate therapy goals and treatment plans from objective and subjective evaluation data
- Interpersonal skills to enable efficient, effective and appropriate communication with patients, families, physicians, providers, other agencies, and inter/intra departmental staff regarding patient care
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other pertinent computer software programs.
- Customer service oriented with ability to develop and maintain rapport with students, physicians, and school staff
- Minimum of five years athletic training experience, including supervisory experience in athletic training outreach programming
- Knowledge of concussion baseline testing and post injury testing
- Electronic Medical Record experience
- Certification in strength and conditioning
