Lewis, Yockey, & Brown, Inc, Consulting Engineers & Land Surveyors (LYB) is actively seeking to add a Land Surveyor to the Bloomington, Illinois office staff. LYB continues to serve the Central Illinois region, since 1983, providing professional services for varied types of land surveying projects associated with municipal engineering, transportation, and institutional and private land development requiring land boundary and topographic mapping surveying.Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Engage in supervised and independent work on land survey projects including field data acquisition, legal document research preparation of plats, supervision of field crew specific projects and construction layout oversight.- Perform calculations and geometric and spatial analysis for land survey projects utilizing approved computer programs and manual computations in accordance with accepted land surveying practice.- Prepare survey calculations topographic mapping controls, volumetric computations and survey mission planning.- Direct and review production of drawings by CAD technicians.- Work closely with in-house design team and land survey team members.- Assist Project Manager with administrative survey activities, documentation controls and project scheduling.- Coordinate assigned activities with consultants, contractors, outside agencies and internal staff.- Stay abreast of state and local agency requirements for survey and plat standards and filing/recording requirements.Minimum Qualifications- B.S. in Land Surveying or B.S./B.A. with satisfaction of education hours per Illinois state statute- L.S. License or on LS track preferred- Ability to work in a team environment- Ability to process multiple assignments on a variety of projects, work in an environment to learn quickly and take initiative in problem solving- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record requiredPlease submit queries and resumes to: employment@lybinc.com.
