Lewis, Yockey, & Brown, Inc, Consulting Engineers & Land Surveyors (LYB) is actively seeking to add a Civil Design Engineer to the Bloomington, Illinois office staff. LYB continues to serve the Central Illinois region, since 1983, providing professional services for varied types of civil design engineering projects associated with municipal engineering, transportation, and institutional and private land development.Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Engage in supervised and independent work on design and production of construction plans, specifications and cost estimates.- Perform design and analysis for civil engineering projects utilizing approved design software and manual computations in accordance with accepted design practice.- Prepare design calculations, quantity take-offs and cost estimates.- Direct and review production of drawings by CAD technicians.- Work closely with in-house design team members.- Assist Project Manager with administrative design activities, document controls and project scheduling.- Coordinate assigned activities with consultants, contractors, outside agencies and internal staff.- Conduct various engineering studies and prepare reports.- Stay abreast of state and local construction codes and permit requirements related to civil engineering project design.Minimum Qualifications- B.S. in Civil Engineering- P.E. License or on P.E. track preferred- Ability to work in a team environment- Ability to process multiple assignments on a variety of projects, work in an environment to learn quickly and take initiative in problem solving- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
