Illinois Wesleyan University's The Ames Library invites applications for a 12-month faculty tenure-line position as Electronic Resources & Library Systems Librarian. This position serves as the functional expert on all of the library’s software, systems, and e-resources, which are essential to user access and discovery. The successful candidate will also serve as a library liaison to academic programs, with responsibilities for information literacy instruction, collection development, and research consultations. The start date for this position is, ideally, fall 2024 or spring 2025.

IWU is a nationally ranked, fully accredited undergraduate university with 1650 students that provides the highest quality liberal arts education. The Ames Library offers a learning environment that is conducive to interaction, consultation, study, and reflection, and is dedicated to serving the scholarly needs of the Illinois Wesleyan University community. Opened in 2002, the library holds a diverse and strong print and digital collection and several media studios for students and faculty. Collocated within the library are three of our partners: the Writing Center, the Center for Engaged Learning, the Thorpe Center for Curricular and Faculty Development, and members of Information Technology Services.

The library faculty are highly collaborative, committed to student learning in all forms, and are seen as valued partners on campus. Each library faculty member at The Ames Library is responsible for liaison work with assigned departments, as well as a functional area that serves both the mission of the library and the institution. Library faculty and staff are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in our collective work. The successful candidate will also participate in faculty governance through campus committee service, and will engage with the academic librarianship community through professional development, consortial or library association service, and scholarship. Funding is available for conference travel, research, and professional development; the IWU Faculty Development Handbook (https://www.iwu.edu/thorpe-center/) includes information about pre-tenure leaves, sabbaticals, travel grants, and research grants.
