About the role

Provides high-quality financial recommendations to members interested in IAACU's consumer loan products, with an emphasis on best-in-class member service. Leverages consultative-based selling techniques to solicit member business, build strong referral partnerships and meet established production goals.

How does this role make an impact?

  • Establishes, maintains and grows member relationships in order to continually provide credit union solutions that meet member needs.

  • Performs interviews, recommends products, underwrites loans by conducting financial analysis of applicant’s personal documentation, and evaluates credit reports to uncover potential fraud and additional loan risks. Efficiently, accurately, and thoroughly manages every step of the loan process.

  • Drives consumer loan growth through proactive and strategic outreach campaigns, including targeted phone calls to current and prospective members.

  • Builds and maintains strong referral partnerships through consistent outreach and relationship management.

  • Works within a team environment to meet or exceed established loan volume, income, cross-selling, and loan quality objectives. Collaborates with other departments to review member reports and identify cross-selling opportunities.

  • Works with third parties involved in consumer loan transactions on behalf of members and IAACU.

  • Ensures compliance with IAACU and regulatory lending policies.

  • Supports loan process changes to improve operational efficiencies.

Do you have what we're looking for?

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of lending experience in a financial institution; OR 4+ years of lending and sales experience in a financial institution or a combination of related experience, education, and training.
  • Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC) preferred.
  • Proficient in Loan Origination Systems (LOS), with hands-on experience using MeridianLink.
  • Skilled in credit analysis and risk assessment, including evaluating creditworthiness and detecting potential fraud.
  • Familiar with digital banking tools, including online loan applications, e-signature platforms, and secure document upload systems.
  • Utilizes data-driven insights to identify lending trends and better understand member needs.
  • Applies a consultative sales approach, emphasizing relationship-building and needs-based solutions.
  • Demonstrates strong emotional intelligence to navigate sensitive financial conversations with empathy.
  • Highly adaptable to changing loan products, policies, and technologies.
  • Skilled in conflict resolution, maintaining professionalism while addressing member concerns or disputes.
  • Regularly works daytime and Saturday hours (on rotating basis) with occasional overtime. Work may extend beyond normal business hours as business needs dictate.

Base Pay Range:

$50,800-$69,850

The base pay range represents the typical range of potential salary offers for candidates hired. Factors used to determine your actual salary include your specific skills, qualifications and experience.

Incentive Pay:

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for a Short-Term Incentive plan.
