Description

The CEO of the IAA Credit Union is responsible for the overall direction and leadership of the IAA Credit Union (IAACU), ensuring operations are in accordance with member interests and needs, as well as in compliance with state and federal laws, regulatory authorities, and policies established by the Board of Directors. The CEO creates a team-spirited work environment through a positive and proactive leadership style. The IAACU is an affiliate of the Illinois Farm Bureau.

This position offers a hybrid work schedule and is based out of our Bloomington, IL office.

How does the CEO, IAA Credit union make an impact?

  • Oversees strategic planning, budgeting, decision-making and overall direction for the Credit Union while managing institutional risks (e.g., compliance, strategy, transactions, reputation).
  • Accountable for attaining established annual growth and financial strength metrics, ensuring profitability is balanced with risk management.
  • Fosters positive relationships with and represents the credit union to member companies, the financial community, representatives of regulatory agencies and the general public.
  • Exemplifies the IAACU brand by providing members with a positive experience and the solutions to best meet their needs and financial goals.
  • Creates, obtains approval, implements, and maintains IAACU policies, procedures, bylaws, terms, and conditions.
  • Maintains liaison with the Finance division of the Illinois Farm Bureau (IFB) to help ensure credit union actions coordinate with IFB objectives.
  • Provides supervisory leadership for assigned staff, including employment, training, supervision, support and ongoing performance feedback. Operates within the framework of IFB human resources policies.
  • Prepares reports and statements as required by law or regulation, the Board and/or members to assure proper communication and financial management.
  • Performs research, prepares reports, and provides information and counsel to the Board of Directors, relevant committees, and other entities, as requested. Serves on committees as designated.
  • Exercises professional leadership by keeping abreast of current trends, developments, technology and opportunities within field of responsibility.
  • Fosters a positive environment where all team members are motivated and committed to contribute their best work.
  • Creates a safe environment where team members are supported to make decisions and take action to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Takes personal responsibility for making tough decisions, meeting commitments and adapting to ensure expected results are achieved.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance for financial institutions.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Sound judgment, the ability to think strategically and creatively, and strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to develop and motivate others, resolve conflict, delegate effectively and lead change.
  • General knowledge of lending regulations and familiarity with retail banking products and services.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, organize efficiently, establish priorities and attend to details in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment.
  • This is an executive leadership role, which typically requires 12+ years of relevant experience or a combination of related experience, education and training, including management experience.
