We are seeking applicants for a full-time Director position to manage the Electric Vehicle (EV) Career Pathway Program. This program is funded through an Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity grant which aims to establish the education and training infrastructure needed to meet the increasing demand for specialized technicians in EV manufacturing. This position will serve as the primary investigator for the grant and the single-point of contact for program partners at Rivian Automotive and the Bloomington Career Academy.
General responsibilities include but are not limited to:- Lead the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the EV Career Pathway Program. This includes but is not limited to student recruitment, success support, budgeting, and reporting.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Rivian, the Bloomington Career Academy, and other partners.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external partners to identify industry workforce needs and make recommendations to the CTE Dean, Director of Business and Industry Solutions, and others to enhance the program.
- Oversee the program budget. Ensure expenditures are aligned with program goals and grant requirements.
- Collect program performance data, assess outcomes, and identify and implement needed program improvements as appropriate.
- Work closely with the Grants Office to support accurate and on-time financial and program reporting as required by the funding agency.
- Serve as the primary liaison of the EV Career Pathway Program to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with instructional areas, College staff, and community resource agencies.
- In collaboration with the Associate Director, Workforce Empowerment Initiative, facilitate the maintenance of student information and records, including education and career plans, referrals made, and services provided.
- Maintain access of highly confidential student records in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- Experience performing project management related or grant-funded functions
- Ability to lead grant directives or specialized support programs
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills, attention to detail, ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and to function professionally under pressure
- Proven commitment to and understanding of the special needs of students from diverse academic, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds
Desired Qualifications

- Master’s degree
- Familiarity with academic and student service functions in higher education
- Knowledge of electric vehicle and/or manufacturing industries
- Experience with budgeting and/or financial management

EMPLOYEE LEAVE
Vacation: 20 days (160 hours) per year with a maximum annual carry-over of 40 days (320 hours); Accrual of 6.16 hours will be granted on the last day of each pay period
Sick Leave: 12 days (96 hours) per year with unlimited annual carry-over; 12 days (96 hours) granted on start date; Beginning on the first anniversary, accrual of 3.70 hours will be granted on the last day of each pay period.Volunteer Leave: 1 day (8 hours) per year with no annual carry-over;
Health Savings Account:Tax-advantaged account available to QHDHP participants only to pay for qualified healthcare expenses. The College provides monthly contributions for eligible employees: $50 for single coverage, $100 for employee +1 coverage, $200 for family coverage

Parental Leave: 4 weeks for qualifying events, once per 12-month rolling period
Holidays: 12 designated paid holidays, plus 3 paid Floating Holidays (24 hours); Floating Holidays granted on start date, then annually granted on the anniversary date. HCC is closed from Christmas Eve Day through New Year’s Day generally resulting in additional paid days
