A Brief Overview
The Item & Wire Processing Specialist I performs daily and time sensitive tasks involving the Bank's Item Processing and Wire Transfer Services functions. They will provide quality customer care and support to both internal and external customers. This position is responsible for performing time sensitive tasks with a working knowledge of established Regulations, Rules, and per the Bank's policies and procedures. The Item & Wire Processing Specialist reports to the department supervisor.
What you will do
- Maintain an understanding of the Bank's various item processing and wire transfer systems.
- Analyze and process all incoming and outgoing wire transfer requests in an accurate and timely manner.
- Provide troubleshooting and research assistance for bank personnel or customers as requested.
- Process daily deposits for the Bank's Lockbox customers.
- Exercise extreme care while processing requests and be alert for fraud and suspicious activity.
- Perform various daily functions to monitor reports and complete maintenance requests.
- Stay up to date with all established Federal Regulations for Wire Transfers. (OFAC, BSA/AML, Dodd-Frank, etc.)
- Generate and provide Dodd-Frank disclosures when necessary for international wire transfers.
- Reconcile, scan, image, and archive end of day wire transfer reports and wire transfer documentation.
- Assist in compiling statistics regarding item processing and wire transfer volume, fees, and miscellaneous information needed by management.
Other Qualifications/Requirements
- H.S. Diploma or GED and minimum 2 years Banking preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
