A Brief Overview
The Consumer Collections Associate will work with borrowers to resolve loan delinquencies in accordance with bank, secondary market, and legal guidelines including state and federal regulations. Collect on loans that are early to late stage in the collection cycle, analyze loss mitigation applications, prepare internal memorandums. Strong attention to detail and critical thinking are required. Reports to the Consumer Collections Manager.
What you will do
- Complete documented weekly contact events for delinquent consumer loans as assigned and by regulatory guidelines.
- Manages a consumer collections portfolio by ordering and analyzing property valuations as needed, identifying monthly qualifying risk rating changes, and completing renewals of matured loans within assigned portfolio.
- Analyze loss mitigation applications and discuss options with the borrowers to determine the best option for both parties. Must follow loan specific timelines and guidelines for submitting appropriate work out programs.
- Communicates by phone and by email to internal and external customers in a respectful and professional manner.
- Prepares comprehensive memos within the established departmental format and guidelines.
- Maintains organization amid frequent interruptions while managing multiple tasks and phone calls throughout the workday.
- Provide regular progress updates to management on all outstanding loss mitigation plans, renewals, and significantly past due loans.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Perform other projects/tasks as needed.
Other Qualifications/Requirements
- Knowledge of loss mitigation options available to borrowers.
- Working knowledge of Silverlake and Info-Access a plus.
- H.S. Diploma or GED and minimum 1 year collections preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
