Direct Travel is seeking a dynamic and talented Social Media Strategist to join our Corporate Marketing team. This role will report to the Director of Content Strategy and will focus on social media management, platform engagement, social community involvement, and social partnerships, alongside general copywriting tasks. The ideal candidate is a creative self-starter with strong writing skills and a keen understanding of social media trends and best practices.

This is a remote position, and applicants who are legally authorized to work in the US or Canada are welcome to apply.

Expedition Expectations

  • Develop and execute engaging social media content to enhance brand awareness, drive engagement, and support marketing initiatives.
  • Grow Direct Travel’s social media presence across platforms, including but not limited to LinkedIn, X, Facebook, and Instagram.
  • Engage with social media communities by responding to comments, messages, and interactions in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create integrated social media campaigns that align with overall marketing goals and strategies.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with influencers and other brands to expand social reach and enhance brand reputation.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Writer to generate compelling copy, blog posts, and web content that supports marketing efforts and drives leads into the sales pipeline.
  • Monitor social media trends, tools, and applications, and apply knowledge to enhance Direct Travel’s social media presence.
  • Collaborate with the Sr. Marketing Analytics Manager to analyze social media performance metrics and optimize content to improve engagement.
  • Support the development of marketing materials as needed, such as whitepapers, case studies, and thought leadership articles.
  • Work with the content team to audit, refine, and revise existing content to ensure consistency with the brand voice and positioning.
  • Maintain high copywriting standards, ensuring all content is proofread for grammar, clarity, and accuracy.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas for content creation and marketing strategies.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging social media platforms to keep Direct Travel ahead of the curve.

Passport to Success

  • Degree in English, Communications, Marketing, or a related discipline OR a portfolio demonstrating extensive professional social media experience
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in social media management and content creation, with writing samples available upon request
  • Excellent editing and proofreading skills
  • Ability to work from home
  • Proficiency in social media management tools and analytics platforms
  • Positive, proactive individual with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with the team and other departments
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US or Canada and have unrestricted work authorization

Going the Extra Mile

  • Experience in the business travel industry or B2B space
  • Familiarity with HubSpot or similar marketing platforms
  • Experience creating graphics and videos for social media
  • Video and photo editing capabilities
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite
