240229)As a Regulatory Government Affairs Specialist at COUNTRY Financial, you will have the opportunity to work with colleagues across the enterprise on legislative and regulatory items of impact to the organization. You will be part of a team that supports the priorities of the organization by working with external trade groups to advocate on our behalf. You will play a critical role as the liaison of information of importance and help to shape the legislative framework in our core states, and at the federal level. The ideal candidate is able to work independently, while also being team focused, adaptable, and collaborative.
This position offers a hybrid work schedule and can be based out of our corporate offices in Bloomington, IL, Alpharetta, GA, or Minneapolis, MN.
How does a Regulatory Government Affairs Specialist make an impact?
- Monitor and distribute information to business areas and executive management in connection with new and pending legislation, regulations, bulletins, and regulatory developments, and confirm determination of impact to company and resolution has been achieved.
- Work directly with business areas to help implement compliance frameworks in response to regulatory and company compliance requirements.
- Work with Government Affairs Manager and business areas to develop policy positions, position statements, and corporate strategies to influence public policy outcomes for the benefit of COUNTRY.
Do you have what we're looking for?
- Strong ethics and principles.
- Knowledge of insurance and financial services products.
- Knowledge of state legislature and government agency regulatory processes.
- Insurance compliance, government relations and/or legal experience.
- Juris Doctor degree is preferred but not required.
- Typically requires 4 years of relevant experience or a combination of related experience, education and training.
