Job Description:

The Mobility Services Specialist serves as a bridge between participants and the services provided by the organization. Under general supervision of the Service Delivery Manager, this position ensures participant satisfaction by providing eligibility coordination, Medicaid billing oversight, application management, and travel training support.

This is a non-supervisory, non-exempt position that requires strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.


Wages:

$22.00 an hour.

Upon successful completion of the ADA Coordinator Certification (ADACC), the hourly rate will increase to $24.00.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Manage the Connect Mobility application approval and denial process.
  • Track pending Medicaid applications and conduct monthly verification of applied income and eligibility status.
  • Provide monthly Medicaid billing and follow-up on outstanding balances.
  • Understand payer hierarchy, authorizations, and coverage limits to ensure proper A/R distribution.
  • Monitor census data daily and monthly to complete accurate and timely billing.
  • Track and submit unbilled claims by reviewing remittance advices and EOBs.
  • Apply electronic and manual payments daily to maintain current A/R balances.
  • Participate in monthly A/R closing functions in accordance with company timelines.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Medicaid billing rules and regulations.
  • Follow HIPAA guidelines when handling patient information.
  • Provide and coordinate travel training for customers upon request.
  • Work with family members to complete Medicaid applications.
  • Support departmental projects and assignments as needed.
  • Prepare reports and correspondence.
  • Maintain excellent attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Education & Experience:
    • Associate degree or a combination of education and relevant experience.
    • Minimum one year of experience in medical insurance billing.
    • Experience working with individuals who may have physical or cognitive disabilities.
    • Understanding of HIPAA requirements preferred.
    • Experience contributing effectively to a team environment.
  • Certifications:
    • ADA Coordinator Certification (ADACC) is required within one (1) year of hire.
  • Knowledge of:
    • Medical insurance billing processes.
    • Medicaid rules and regulations.
    • ADA and HIPAA requirements.
    • Research procedures.
    • Computer hardware and software applications.
  • Ability to:
    • Communication professionally verbally and in writing.
    • Operate computers and standard office equipment proficiently.
    • Analyze complex data and resolve account issues.
    • Apply independent judgment and decision-making skills.
    • Interpret and apply laws, policies, procedures, and contracts.
    • Maintain professional interaction with employees and outside representatives.
    • Learn multiple software systems.
    • Apply strong problem-solving and account resolution skills.
    • Ability to attend off-site training and seminars outside normal business hours.
  • Physical & Work Environment Requirements:
    • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
    • Ability to operate standard office equipment.
    • Primarily indoor office environment.
    • Occasional business travel may be required.
