Job Description:

Our dynamic Operations team is seeking a Scheduler who will complete various scheduling tasks to ensure all operations shifts are covered and service to the public can be provided efficiently and effectively. This position will report directly to the Operations Director and is ideal for someone who is versatile and adaptable and analytical.

Wages:

$20.50 per hour, dependent on qualifications.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Develop Operations schedules throughout the week and weekend, ensuring that all shifts are adequately covered and managed.
  • Evaluate, create, and post daily schedules for Bus Operations (Fixed, FLEX, and Mobility), Dispatch Office, and Customer Service Representative areas, adjusting schedules as needed.
  • Assist with daily and weekly payroll finalization.
  • Assist in preparing operational scheduling documents such as bid boards, paddles, car reliefs, and pull-out sheets.
  • Assist with the farebox revenue separation, counting, and recording, as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of Operations personnel attendance, including absences, requests for time off, vacations and vacation change requests, etc.
  • Assist the Operations team with coordinating schedules to accommodate activities, training, and addressing operational needs.
  • Manage quarterly Bus Operator Bid Board (shift selection) and Yearly Vacation Bid Board (vacation selection).
  • Build quarterly Bus Operator Bid Board in payroll system.
  • Build schedule templates to match quarterly Bus Operator Bid Boards.
  • Input FMLA time in payroll system.
  • Completion of payroll for Bus Operators, Customer Service Representatives, and Dispatchers.
  • Comply with Connect Transit’s safety rules, policies, and procedures to maintain, support, and promote a safe work environment.
  • Complete required yearly trainings (Diversity/Inclusion in the Workplace, Equal Opportunity, etc.).
  • Maintain flexibility to perform various operational tasks throughout the week.
  • Follow workflow as assigned by Operations Director.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree or higher preferred; additional qualifications in vehicle operations or related fields preferred.
  • Successfully complete federal background check and pre-employment drug test.
  • Proven experience in an operational support role, managing multiple tasks effectively.
  • Ability to:
    • Maintain strong organizational and time-management skills.
    • Understand and apply the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (labor contract).
    • Provide excellent communication with all levels of Connect Transit employees.
    • Maintain confidential and sensitive information at all times.
    • Work independently and exercise independent judgement and creativity in making decisions.
    • Work weekends, as needed.
    • Maintain excellent attendance record.
    • Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications and communication equipment.
    • Operate two-way radio equipment.
    • Become familiar with regulations regarding bus operations, safety, and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
    • Meet the physical demands required of this position.
