We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our Marketing and Communications team who is passionate about human services and the work we do! This role will play a crucial part in supporting our marketing and communications efforts, contributing to the development and implementation of strategies to enhance our brand and engagement with our target audience. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, creative thinking, and a passion for marketing and communications.
Chestnut Health Systems is a leading provider of behavioral and primary health care services. Over four decades, Chestnut has grown to almost 800 committed, compassionate employees providing substance use, mental health, and primary care treatment to patients in Illinois and Missouri. We provide fully integrated care for all our patients by combining behavioral health care services with our community-based primary care health centers. Chestnut also conducts research and training throughout the U.S.A.
Responsibilities
- Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the marketing and communications team, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, organizing files, attending meetings as needed, maintaining organized records, compiling information packets, acquiring estimates and quotes, making phone calls, etc.
- Content Creation: Assist/Develop in the creation of engaging content for various marketing channels, including social media, website, email campaigns, and print materials.
- Social Media: Help the team manage and maintain our social media presence by scheduling posts, monitoring engagement, and responding to comments and messages.
- Event Coordination: Plan and coordination of events, including community events and internal events. Assist with department ordering and budget management.
- Digital Marketing: Assist in the creation and deployment of digital marketing campaigns, including content creation, list management, and performance tracking.
- Assist with other marketing and communications activities as requested as well as general office duties.
- Work closely with the Marketing and Communications Manager and Director to ensure message and brand consistency.
- Promote Chestnut’s culture of customer service excellence through the adherence to Chestnut’s behavioral standards for customer service.
- Maintain and project confidentiality and security of all organizational information gained while performing job responsibilities including, but not limited to, financial and client information.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- To qualify for the assistant job title, a high school diploma or equivalent with some college is required. Preferred college courses of study include communications, public relations, digital media, broadcasting, journalism, or a related field for the assistant position.
- To qualify for the coordinator job title, a bachelor’s degree in multimedia design, graphic design, communications, public relations, digital media, broadcasting, journalism, or a related field with one to three years post-degree field experience.
- Basic or Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office; graphic design and video editing software (e.g. Adobe Create Suite); video and photography experience preferred.
- Deep understanding of current trends and best practices across multimedia design, digital marketing, and social media.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrable writing, organizational, and planning skills
- Knowledge of event planning, graphic design, and campaign design.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong analytical and multitasking abilities.

- This role involves a combination of administrative tasks, creative project support, and data analysis.
- Experience in health care, human services, or related industries is considered a plus.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, private automobile insurance, and be insurable.
