Position Summary
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
- Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, production floor, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as type, style, color, or product code.
- Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
- Managing raw material warehouse.
- Maintains shipping/receiving at raw material warehouse and ramp area.
- Participates in physical inventories.
- Hazard waste removal when needed, must be trained on processes and procedures.
- Operate various machinery including forklifts to handle materials and inventory.
- Operate floor scrub machine and clean the factory regular bases.
- Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming or outgoing material to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders and/or other records.
- Assembles cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers when needed.
- Unpacks and inspects material for correctness, damages and shortages.
- Learns and observes applicable company policies and safe practices and performs all duties assigned by supervisors.
- This description covers the significant duties of the job but may not include occasional assignments which would be within the evaluation of this job.
- Assists Production with routing materials throughout the plant.
- Other duties may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations, and to other employees of the organization. Ability to interact via telephone, take orders and follow instructions.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
