Position Summary

The Production Trainer Coordinator is responsible for delivering training to new and existing production operators in all aspects of production, maintaining records of all training including documents and updates, implementing new training procedures, assisting in the development and revision of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), assuring safety in the workplace, and adherence to our Quality System, providing hands-on work in both assembly and machining areas in addition to developing training materials and utilizing multiple forms of training media. The ideal candidate understands what adult learners need to succeed. They can build an engaging, dynamic learning curriculum that connects with learners and understand how to implement these programs successfully. The person must have strong project management skills and can prioritize multiple projects while understanding the big picture of where training modules fit within the larger education strategy. This person will communicate easily with learners and is comfortable with technology and is always looking for new tools, systems, and methods to push learning forward.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with the Training Manager and the Process Specialists to develop content for existing & new production processes that are practical, and interactive which deliver an ROI.
  • Providing quality training material that meets specific requested requirements, including program design, training the trainer support, and evaluation techniques.
  • Promoting and expanding learning and development opportunities across the technology, maintenance, production, and quality departments.
  • Be proactive and possess research skills, resolve issues, and drive training initiatives independently or within a team environment.
  • Assist in analyzing processes and data to determine training needs and develop materials.
  • Provide in-depth training reports and track the progress of training or related projects.
  • Help develop criteria to evaluate the effectiveness of training activities.
  • Develop training materials.
  • Document training events.
  • Compile and publish training metrics.
  • Works in conjunction with the technology, maintenance, production, and quality departments.
  • Attends regular management meetings as required.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Ability to take abstract concepts and create meaningful and effective training solutions.
  • Basic Content creation experience (experience with authoring software). Can train expertise but basic skills will be required.
  • Excellent program and project management skills
  • Must be highly collaborative with both Training Manager and Process Specialists.
  • Excellent written and visual communication skills are required.
  • Must be technically savvy.
  • Strong creativity skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

• At least 3 years of experience training in a manufacturing environment.

• Experience with Microsoft Office applications.

• Experience delivering technical training sessions.

• Experience developing training materials, including presentations.

• Experience creating group training session records.

• Experience compiling and publishing training metrics.

• Demonstrated communication and presentation skills.

• Demonstrated attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.

• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work different shifts for months at a time to train employees working on each shift.

• Creating, implementing, and communicating large-scale learning curriculum across a variety of topics

• Preferred experience with authoring software including Articulate 360 and Camtasia.

• Preferred experience with Adobe Creative Cloud systems

• Preferred experience working within and Learning Management System (LMS) including uploading and administrative responsibilities.

• Strong Written and Visual communication required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or 5 years of equivalent experience required. Some college experience or associate degree/certificate preferred; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, in all units of measure, whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
