Job Category

Position Summary

Under limited direction, this position is responsible for performing a variety of Human Resources functions such as time and attendance, hiring, recruiting, development, maintaining employee records, hourly and nonexempt compensation documentation, and providing support to the Director of Human Resources by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes positive morale among employees through timely and accurate information.
  • Responsible for the administration of HRIS systems (Workday & Kronos) including payroll processing.
  • Responsible for Time and Attendance related functions including:
  • Reviews and approves weekly payroll processing using WorkDay (mybridgestone.com)/Kronos.
  • Attendance Discipline Records and reports (Kronos/spreadsheet).
  • Verify 1/1 PTO balances on all employees.
  • Program holidays in Kronos and Brivo (access card system).
  • Attendance Bonus (twice/year).
  • Monitor absence requests/adherence to policies.
  • Monitor timecards (second line/supervisor edits).
  • Completes required monthly reports for various departments and other reports as assigned.
  • Manually reduce PTO following year if some are out on STD.
  • Provides Workday and Kronos training (Teammates, Coordinators, and management when needed)
  • Day-to-day monitoring of janitorial, vending, and staffing agency services and makes recommendations for changes.
  • Responsible for the daily administration and documentation of individual compensation records for exempt and hourly nonexempt employees.
  • Liaison with recruiting agencies to fill vacancies in a timely manner.
  • Assigns and ends temporary worker assignments in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Reconcile bills from temporary staffing agencies.
  • Carries out duties of employee recognition activities like service awards and gifts.
  • Communicates company policies and procedures to all teammates.
  • Administers HR processes and programs such as, but not limited to, assisting employees with timely submission of group insurance, FMLA, and disability claims.
  • Benefit administration to include, but not limited to, claims resolution, change reporting, enrollment of new hires and reconciliation of monthly benefits billing. Works with Bridgestone Tire, insurance providers and employee to resolve benefit related problems.
  • Communicates benefit plan and employee handbook documents, in easily understood terms and media, to employees through orientation and updated booklets.
  • Maintains personnel records to ensure completeness, accuracy, timeliness and confidentiality.
  • Processes employee status changes and personnel action forms.
  • Ensure accuracy of all new hire paperwork, and post offer physicals.
  • Assists in the recruitment efforts including but not limited to internal (job posting system) posting and external (job fairs, job advertisements, etc.) posting, interviewing and screening applicants.
  • Conducts wage, benefit, and policy surveys to ensure competitive wages and working conditions.
  • Confers with legal department of some contracts, and employment issues when needed.
  • Assist in all company sponsored events.
  • Assists in preparation of annual departmental budget by providing quotes and communicating any changes with service provider rate changes.
  • Available to address HR related issues in the absence of HR Director.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent; or five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Demonstrated working knowledge in an HRIS system such as Workday and Kronos.

Other Skills and Abilities

Must be efficient with time management, relationship building, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a team as well as the ability to manage change. Must possess computer proficiency through use of Microsoft Office applications to include Excel and Word, communicate effectively through use of e-mail, and demonstrate knowledge in the use of Power Point.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
